Brief Bio

Writing Sample

writing sample

This writing sample is taken from the first chapter of my dissertation, Becoming Authentic: the Meaning and Possibility of Personal Originality in the Hermeneutic Tradition. The chapter, “Authenticity as an Ethical Ideal,”  treats the contemporary notion of authenticity as exposited by the famous Canadian philosopher, Charles Taylor.

I recently presented this speech on the distinction between wisdom and knowledge at the 46th Annual Public School’s Luncheon in Arcadia, CA, sponsored by Arcadia Masonic Lodge and Arcadia High Twelve.

Take a look at my latest journal article: “Kenosis, Sunyata, and Comportment: Interreligious Discourse Beyond Concepts,” in Journal of Interreligious Dialogue, 7, August 15th, 2011.

I  have three different books that I am working on, which are in various stages of the submission and publication process. Click the links below for further descriptions.

    • Groundless Gods: The Prospect of Post-metaphysical Philosophy of Religion and Theology, being edited in conjunction with Hartmut von Sass and with “Forewords” by George Pattison and Kevin Hart.
    • Becoming Authentic: Philosophical and Theological Reflections on the Meaning and Possibility of a Contemporary Ideal, a re-write of my dissertation.
